Founded in 1933, the third generation Halvey Funeral Home has relocated to our new riverview location. We recognize the responsibility to provide the finest facility and best service to the community and are honored to serve you in your time of need.
For over 84 years, we have cared for Beacon families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
In 1933, John J. Halvey, our founder and Patrick’s grandfather, founded the Halvey Funeral Home in Beacon, NY. At a time when family memorial gatherings traditionally took place in the private home, the concept of a separate Funeral Home to conduct services was new. John took this concept and started a business. He had a strong connection to the local community and compassion and empathy for families at a difficult time was his hallmark.
In 1953, John demonstrated his commitment to the community by opening the Halvey Funeral Home at 24 Willow Street in Beacon. This renovated residence was the largest and newest funeral home in the city. The white building with signature green awning was in continuous service until 2017. John was a leader in the industry and successfully navigated a crowded competitive market that once had six funeral homes in the city.
